The University of Szeged honors distinguished domestic and international individuals for their outstanding scientific achievements by awarding them the title of Doctor Honoris Causa (Honorary Doctor).

This prestigious title is conferred by the Senate upon recommendation of the University Doctoral Council, making it one of the highest honors granted by the University.
