In the first stage of the competition, the teams had to develop written solutions for the given case studies. During the case-solving process, the contestants were allowed to use only the Hungarian Civil Code and the Criminal Code. Hungarian participants had to base their solutions on Hungarian legislation, while the host institution’s students relied on Romanian law. The teams had three hours to prepare their written solutions and then had to defend their solutions orally before the section juries.

The juries evaluated the teams’ ability to identify legal issues, apply relevant legal provisions, use appropriate legal terminology, and demonstrate verbal expression and argumentation skills.

At the end of the full-day competition, the team from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged achieved first place in the civil law section.
