Successful Performances of the Law Students on the EUGLOH Conference

Three of our students participated in the EUGLOH Annual Student Research Conference (September 28th –30th), which was organised in 2020 for the first time by the University of Szeged (Hungary) with the involvement of member universities of the EUGLOH Alliance: the Ludwig-Maximilian University of München (Germany), the Lund University (Sweden), the University of Porto (Portugal) and the Paris-Saclay University (France). The topic of the Conference was “Global Health Challenges: Diseases of Modern Life”.

Almost a hundred students from the five European counties mentioned above shared and discussed their researches via an online platform, Coospace, in multidisciplinary fields, mostly from the area of medicine, pharmacology and technology. The students were given ten minutes to present the results of their researches, which was followed by a five-minute-long open discussion, in which the members of the committee and the audience had the chance to ask questions regarding the work of the presenter. The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Szeged was represented in the section of “Global health: miscellaneous challenges II.” by Vivien Kardos (first-grader PhD student), Martin Kócsó (fourth-grader law student), and Botond Nagy (final-year law student).

Dr. Vivien Kardos started with her presentation “Digital challenges of the next generation in the field of law”.

The members of the committee, Prof. Dr. Matthias Siebeck from Ludwig-Maximilian University of München and Prof. Dr. Elísio Manuel de Sousa Costa from University of Porto, experts in the field of medicine, posed numerous meritorious questions about the works of the presenters, which were all answered expansively. Furthermore, the committee decided to honour Botond Nagy’s legal research with third prize in their section mostly dominated by natural scientific presentations.

We would like to congratulate all three of our students and express our gratitude to their supervisors: Dr. habil. Péter Kovács, Prof. Dr. Márta Görög and Dr. habil. Zsuzsanna Juhász.
