”Life after the GDPR: Good Data Protection Rules and Prospects for the Future”

Conference Invitation

The right to the protection of personal data is one of the fundamental values and human rights enshrined in most of the legal documents of Europe and the world. The European Union reserves one of the global leading positions in providing good data protection rules. Ensuring a better data protection framework for Europeans has been boosted once the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force in 25 May 2018.

In this conference, we will witness the GDPR-related experience of national institutional actors and of the private sector, in combination with academic views. While the issues of the present will be discussed, we will also try to find answers to the questions such as how the right to the protection of personal data will look like in the future where new technologies surpass existing ones day to day.

We cordially invite you to be a part of this unique international conference organized by the International and Regional Studies Institute of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged, with the Europe Direct information office, and co-financed by the Hungarian Ministry of Justice.

The event will take place in Szeged, in Szent-Györgyi Albert Agóra, on 18 October 2018.
