A four-member delegation of the Faculty of Law of the Uzhhorod National University from Ukraine visited the University of Szeged on 10 November 2016.

The delegation from Ukraine, led by Yaroslav Lazur Dean, consisted of Sibila Buleca Vice-Dean for Scientific Affairs, Homonai László Vice-Dean, Andriy Holovac and Revucka Irina researchers. On behalf of the Faculty of Law University of Szeged, Balogh Elemér Dean, Trócsányi László Minister for Justice and Director of the International and Regional Studies Institute, Karsai Krisztina Vice-Rector for Education, Mezei Peter, Szomora Zsolt and Varga Norbert Vice-Deans, Badó Attila Director of Institute of Comparative Law, Kruzslicz Péter Director of International Affairs, Fejes Zsuzsanna deputy director of IRSI, Kardos Lili advisor, and Almásiné Hévizi Natália Head of the Dean’s Office participated at the meeting.

The aim of the event was to overview the law training programmes of the Uzhhorod National University and the University of Szeged. During the conversation the Participants examined the possibilities and opportunities of the cooperation between the two universities for the future. At the Faculty of Law of the Uzhhorod National University, there is a growing need for better knowledge concerning the European integration and the introduction to the Hungarian experiences regarding the process of EU accession. The Participants were open to implement common conferences and other scientific cooperation concerning joint publications, too.

The result of the negotiations was an agreement about organising a summer university in 2017, and better utilising the existing possibilities such as the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme, as well as working out further cooperation for the students and staff mobility or double degree programmes in the future.
